Camille has been a pioneer and leader in student-centered and project-based learning, as well as administrative leadership and organizational and professional development. She founded and served as Head Learner of a project-based learning public charter school for eight years, and prior to that was Associate Superintendent of Schools for the Archdiocese of Milwaukee and Principal at a K-8 public school. She has extensive experience as an elementary, middle and high school teaching, has taught at the college level, and was a parent educator. In her role as Foundry’s Chief Learning Officer, Camille focuses on integrating effective PBL research into Project Foundry and Deeper Learning schools, building powerful partnerships to enhance teacher and student performance, implementing PBL and Project Foundry in complex school and district contexts. Camille has earned a PhD in Education Policy and Leadership from Marquette University, Milwaukee.

Curriculum & Instruction Specialist, Minneapolis Public Schools

Opal has both taught and served as an instructional coach at the secondary level for 19 years. She has pioneered both Project-based Learning and Online Learning as a District Program Facilitator for Minneapolis Public Schools, focusing as a curriculum and instruction leader for Minneapolis’ nine alternative schools. She has been integral to the work of transformational change for students in MPS, as well as a catalyst for continued improvement in the areas of personalized learning, including Project-based Learning and Blended-online learning. Opal has also worked as a district-level technology integrationist and instructional designer, facilitating the roll-out of mobile devices in a large urban school district. She actively facilitates professional development in multiple areas to better equip teachers to meet the needs of diverse learners in innovative learning environments. She has a Masters’ degree in Curriculum and Instruction, a 5-12 ELA teaching license, as well as a K-12 Principal license.
